What’s the difference between WP Live Chat Support and Bleeper?

Over the last few months, as we’ve introduced Bleeper to our customers and to the world, you have most likely seen “Powered by Bleeper” on your chat boxes. This post will clear up any confusion that may have been introduced as a result of this.

What is Bleeper?

WP Live Chat Support and Bleeper both use the same infrastructure and code base. However, we introduced Bleeper as a way to reach out to all non-WordPress users. Bleeper can be installed on any website.

How is Bleeper different?

Although both products run on the same systems, Bleeper comes with a few extra key features. In the spirit of keeping WP Live Chat Support well-integrated into the WordPress code we still allow you to control and manage all your messages and history in your database. We found that this is what most of you appreciate the most and we respect that.

With Bleeper, we took what we learned in the Live Chat space and built out a centralised system that can be used on any platform, and not just WordPress.

Here are some of the key differences between the two products.

Why are some of the features in Bleeper not in WP Live Chat Support?

With building Bleeper on our own scalable and lightning-fast servers, we were able to scale up features, add new functionality and really think outside of the box. For the first time, we didn’t have to worry about overloading your WordPress hosting platform with massive amounts of pings and data transfers and the things that make real-time live chat possible.
