My API Key Says Invalid

Troubleshooting errors in WP Live Chat Support

If you’re API Key is appearing invalid, please ensure you do the following checks before getting in touch with us:

  1. You have moved to a new domain
  2. You have acquired SSL on your site
  3. Your API Key has expired

1. You have moved to a new domain

Whenever Live Chat has been moved from one site to another, the API Key has to be reset. If not, the API will keep saying Invalid.

To reset your API Key, please get in touch with us and send us the domain you would like us to remove from the system.

2. You have acquired SSL on your site

Adding SSL to your site changes your domain from http:// to https://. The API Key will no longer recognize the domain and say Invalid. To have the API Key reset, please get in touch with our team.

3. Your API Key has expired

Although WP Live Chat Support is purchased on a once-off basis, your API Key (and subsequent free updates) will only last a year. Your plugin will still work as expected, but the status will say Invalid.

You can then choose to Renew your API Key, if you want to keep receiving free updates.
