1. Installing the Zapier extension

2. Setting Up a Webhook at Zapier

  • Log in to your Zapier account.
  • Click the Make a Zap! Button.
  • In the Choose a Trigger App search box type “We” and then click Webhooks by Zapier.
  • Next, select Catch Hook and then click the Save + Continue button.

  • On the next page, click the Continue button.
  • On the next page, click the Copy to clipboard button to copy the Zapier webhook.

  • Return to your website and navigate to Live Chat  → Settings → Zapier.
  • Paste the webhook you copied from Zapier into the Zapier Webhook URI textbox.
  • Click the Send button to send the test payload to Zapier.
  • Then click the Save Settings button.

  • If you the button text changes to Success – Try Again?, return to Zapier and click the Ok, I did this button at the bottom of the page.
  • After Zapier retrieves the webhook you should see a green band and Test Successful! As shown below. Click the Continue button.

3. Setting Up an Action for Your Webhook

The next step in setting up your Zapier Webhook is to choose an Action App. This is the App you want to share your Chat data with. For this test we are using Google Contacts.

Different Actions are available for each possible Action App. We want to create a new Google Contact with our Chat data so we selected Create Contact on the Select Google Contacts Action page. After choosing your Action, click the Save + Continue button.

On the next page, select the Google Contacts account you want to use. You can add a Google Contacts account (if the account you want isn’t shown) by clicking the Connect an Account button. Once you’ve selected an account, click the Test button. When the button turns green and displays Success!, click the Save + Continue button.

The options available on the next page vary greatly depending upon the Action App. Once you’ve completed this step click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Verify the options you selected on the next page and click the Create & Continue button. Once again, you’ll see Test Successful!

Click the Finish button to save your new Zap.

 

On the next page give your Zap a name and click the toggle button to turn it on. Then click the See it on your Dashboard or Make another Zap button as appropriate.
